The book has been divided into two parts : a general and a special part. The general part deals with methods of examination which are of practical value. The special part describes the symptoms of individual diseases and diagnoses in much the same sequence as that followed in the examination of patients. There are some novel features in this book. These deserve special commendation. Chapter V deals with Diseases of the abdominal wall and Chapter VII with those of the Pelvic Cellular tissue. There are Chapters which are not met within ordinary textbooks of dealing with diseases of the Female reproductive organs. The contents are not such as are not dealt with in the other books. But the method of dealing is novel and is much appreciated and commended to the practitioners for whom this book will prove of great value. The book has been written in Germany. We, in this part of the World, do not feel that we can accept certain statements by the author, statements that would appear to be dogmatic to a practitioner in India. We give examples.
